“… Lord of Lords and King of Kings …”
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
(Revelation 19:11-16; NIV. Please read Revelation 19.)
I have nothing to say … except … may God open the eyes of my heart, so that I may see the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
ON SECOND THOUGHT: Who is that group following Him? (Psst! That’s us!)

The heading in my bible for this section is titled “Hallelujah!” Hallelujah indeed!

I love the rider on the white horse. I remember singing a song about Him … I wish I still new it because I remember the way it made my heart race when we sang it. When I try to imagine all the saints chanting and singing … praising the One who is delivering them it is beautiful and so loud. I can imagine the earth trembling at the sound of all the voices coming together in worship.
The rider is covered in blood, while the followers wear white linen … ready for the wedding that is about to take place. We are not worthy to be dressed in white, but God sees us as worthy because of the blood shed by the One we follow.
Thank God we have a leader that was willing to do what it took to win the war.

I sure hope I am one of the ones following him and not one of the ones he is striking down!!! Thank goodness for his grace and mercy or I would be one of the ones being struck down with his sharp sword. Thank goodness for the robe dipped in blood….that made it possible for me to be in the armies of heaven!!! Thank goodness that he is called FAITHFUL and TRUE!!!!

This is one of my absolute favorite parts of the Bible. The phrase “He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty” just does something to me! I love it! And King of kings and Lord of lords is my favorite description of Jesus. The image of Him riding on that white horse…waging war and bringing judgment…WOW.
We get to be behind Him as He rides victoriously, covered in the blood of His enemies. I was once an enemy of God~what a blessing that He extended grace and mercy to me. Now instead of getting trampled I get a clean white robe and only have to follow behind Him. I don’t even have to fight the enemies! What a deal!! Thank you Lord. (Those words seem so very small in relation to what You have done for me…)
